The Antquarium is a fantastic conversation piece, and makes an interesting, unusual gift. Around 15 ants is the ideal amount for the Antquarium. The Antquarium was developed by NASA scientists to allow astronauts to observe wildlife in space, and has been into orbit on the NASA Space Shuttle. The clear Perspex Antquarium contains a unique, non toxic transparent gel with special properties that allowed it to withstand the immense g-forces experienced during shuttle take-off. The gel also preserves ants for up to six months at any one time. The gel can also be re-used and antquarium measures 13.5cm x 8.5cm x 3.5cm.
